Colombia 2019: Lago Calima

After swimming in the pool after a relaxed breakfast of lots of bread and good conversation at Uncle Mario's dining room table, we headed through Colombian city, fields, the wide girth of the Cauca River, and even more landscapes before heading up into the mountains. The cooler air flowing in through the open windows felt nice.

While in the mountains, we stopped for lunch (another meal too large for me!). As we began to wind down the other side of the mountains, my brother and I couldn't stop being amazed at the variety and combination of the plants and fruits and trees and crops...there was literally everything!

Eventually, the lake appeared in the distance, and none of our attempts to take pictures out the windows failed to catch it properly.

Before we arrived at Lago (Lake) Calima, we went through a small town that was like a bite of Guatemala. And then, the lake.

The later it got, the further the clouds draped themselves over the mountains and valleys. The drive back as dusk and then darkness fell was just as beautiful.

Guatemala 2018: Worship and Blessing

Even though it means it's our last day, I always love church in Guatemala! And it never disappoints, because the Spirit is always there. Worship and the sermon were good as always. It's a good thing our translator was chosen to translate that morning, because his English needed a little practice! ;) Haha, also an amusing service! After church, I finally got to see Madelin again, although I can't call her my "little friend" anymore, as she is growing into a beautiful young lady! We also got to see Juan and talk with him a little bit. Me and Madelin Lunch was, as usual on Sundays, at the steak house across the street from the compound. I think the food tastes better every year! It was sooo delicious. Back at the compound we rested a bit and then headed back to Getsemani for some of them to play basketball with the Guatemalan youths while the rest of us hung out. While there it rained a bit, and there was a lovely rainbow!   Dinner was pizza nigh...
