About

"Traveling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller." - Ibn Battuta

The world is big until you travel. Then it becomes increasingly smaller as you store up people and places inside of yourself.

Hi! I'm Megan. To give a brief snapshot, I have inside of me...

...the warm smiles of Guatemalan children, refried beans and black bean tortillas, joyful worship services in a language I don't fully understand, impatient airport experiences, sunshine lighting up the colorful walls of Antigua...

The well-known picture of the arch in Antigua

...fairy tale castles and snow-capped mountains, Wurstsalat and freshly-baked pretzels, folk fests filled with colorful Dirndls and Lederhosen, my German "family," a language that I learned and love...

My German family and me!

...and even historic and natural sites, city and country atmospheres, new and already loved places in the United States.

Staring out at the waters of the Atlantic Ocean by the rocky cliffs along Rhode Island's Cliff Walk

Though I began this blog in high school, I am now a 20-something who is working a full-time job and still finding time to travel. My top priority is mission trips, but I do travel to sight see and adventure, as well.

As I read on Pinterest...Good things come to those who book flights (or take road trips)!

Shall we adventure together?

Guatemala 2018: Worship and Blessing

Even though it means it's our last day, I always love church in Guatemala! And it never disappoints, because the Spirit is always there. Worship and the sermon were good as always. It's a good thing our translator was chosen to translate that morning, because his English needed a little practice! ;) Haha, also an amusing service! After church, I finally got to see Madelin again, although I can't call her my "little friend" anymore, as she is growing into a beautiful young lady! We also got to see Juan and talk with him a little bit. Me and Madelin Lunch was, as usual on Sundays, at the steak house across the street from the compound. I think the food tastes better every year! It was sooo delicious. Back at the compound we rested a bit and then headed back to Getsemani for some of them to play basketball with the Guatemalan youths while the rest of us hung out. While there it rained a bit, and there was a lovely rainbow!   Dinner was pizza nigh...
