Church day!!
Because there were so many of us, we didn't all fit in the normal section of chairs that we occupy. So a few of us sat in a nearby section. Worship was of course wonderful, and things started happening about 40 or so minutes in. Then we saw some people praying for Karen, so Miranda and I went to pray for her, and then Katy was also crying, so we prayed for her as well. Then back to a little bit more worship. Before the sermon, one of the pastors-in-training spoke on something that God was telling him, and then Julio started his sermon. To try and keep a broad explanation of the topic (his sermons are long and split into many different points), it was on the importance of reading the Bible.
After church I found Madelin (I had seen her earlier but then she left for kid's church). She gave me a smile and a hug and and I handed her the bracelet and the look on her face was worth it as she asked, "for me?" (in English!) and I responded, "Sí!" Then she clung to me as usual until we had to leave, and I told her good-bye...until next year!
Back at the compound, we walked across the street to the steakhouse and they literally had to put about seven tables together to fit all of us! Julio walked in and said, "This is the longest table I have ever seen in my life!" The food was delicious as usual.
Then some of the group (mainly adults) went with Grandpa back to Antigua (since Carol had been sick when we went and had stayed back at the compound) and the rest of us went to play games with the youth group at the school. Well - those who play soccer and basketball did. I enjoyed watching. :)
That evening the Rodriguezes (minus Julio, and Deborah was only there for a few minutes later on) came over and Ryan washed their feet as we prayed over them and then we had ice cream together and chatted. After they all left we had a worship time.
Oh yes, we also put off some fireworks for Pam's birthday. :) That was fun. We did make sure to warn the guard beforehand!
Some of us were very sad that night, knowing that in the morning we'd be packed and leaving for America.
